Originally from Guelph, Ontario, Jon found CrossFit in 2009 while serving as a member of the Canadian Forces Reserves.  As one of the most unfit members of his unit, he was encouraged by an officer to try CrossFit.  With very little athletic experience, Jon tried CrossFit on his own and found it extremely humbling.  This sparked a love of human movement, learning and then educating others.  With this new-found interest, Jon attended the CrossFit Level 1 training certification in 2010 and began coaching others in the sport at his local box.  In 2016, Jon moved to the Greater Toronto Area to join the Solid Ground Coaching Staff, and he’s been an integral part of the team ever since!

Jon is an extremely passionate coach who loves to help others improve their quality of life.  If you’ve ever been around him, you know that his attention to detail and positive attitude are what allow him to help members pursue excellence.  When Jon’s not coaching, you can likely find him doing his own training or relaxing with an episode of The Office.
