FAQs

What is the Ghost Race?

The Ghost Race is a unique 8 km community race fuelled by an app called Strava, which is used to track athletic activity (like running and cycling) via satellite navigation.  The purpose of the Race is to cultivate run relationships and celebrate exceptional run communities across Canada and the US.

Will the course be marked?

The Ghost Race isn't a traditional race, but each race course will still have that race day feel. The course will be marked in some way (and might even have cheer stations!)

For more information, email us or speak to Jess/ a Coach at the Front Desk.

We'll be kicking off the night with a bootcamp class led by Coach Kimi, flowing through yoga taught by our friends at Moksha Yoga Thornhill, Darcy & Paria, and calming our hearts through a mindfulness practice guided by Mindful Beginnings founder, Mel Tsesler.

2nd Annual CFSG Intramurals

SAVE THE DATE! Our 2nd annual CFSG Intramurals will be running on Saturday November 25, 2017 at CrossFit Solid Ground. This friendly, in-house competition is a team event and so much more.

Here's how it works:

Everyone registers individually at their comfort level (Fitness, Development, or Performance). After you register, we will pair you with a Coach and put you on a team. Participants will be evenly distributed to team captains based on ability level, meaning each team will have an even number of "Fitness", "Development", and "Performance" athletes. All members of the team will earn points for their team in each "event" (workout!). The competition will include individual, partner and team scored events to determine an overall team score. At the end of the weekend, we will crown a 2017 Intramural Champion Team!

But wait! There's more. This friendly competition has a few twists. This year, we'll be asking each team to collect specific canned goods and non-perishables, and other items to be donated to the Yellow Brick House (YBH).  YBH is a local organization, which aims to support and empower abused women & children to rebuild their lives. Last year, the Solid Ground community donated 1450 items to the Richmond Hill Food Bank. This year, we're hoping to donate over 2000 items to YBH.

We’ll be releasing further information in the coming weeks, but for now…

  • Mark your calendars and save the date;
  • Register at the front desk; and
  • Start challenging your fellow members!

Team Note: Registration fees include a team jersey for each athlete, and all proceeds will be used towards the purchase of an AED for the gym. An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a small, lightweight, and portable electronic device that St. John Ambulance recommends for every home and workplace. It works by delivering an electric shock through the chest wall of a person whose heart has stopped beating. It is proven to be one of the most important tools in saving the life of someone suffering sudden cardiac arrest
