Let Us Be Your Happy Place

by Coach Rob Sinclair

Life is a crazy adventure.  Each of us has both a very relatable and a very unique experience as a human, on this crazy adventure.  I think we can all agree that we all have good days and we all have bad days.  Something the people in this community definitely share is a need for a physical outlet that helps us connect and process all of the good, the bad and the ugly.  It's healthy, because on a biological level we need to literally burn the adrenalin out of our system.  This outlet might also create an opportunity to connect with friends, or a community as a part of that processing, or maybe just to reconnect with yourself.  Either way, we hope that in any small way (or big) that this place and this community can be that outlet for you.  We want to be your happy place.

More often than not, for me anyways, we have those good and bad days very privately.  But after 4 years in business, and in the interest of personal growth and to illustrate this point with specific examples, I'm going to do something I don't normally do... I want to share a little more of what my personal journey has included these last 4 years since opening our doors.  And I want to thank you for being a part of it.

I don't say these things to shock or impress, or for sympathy or celebration.  But, rather, to impress upon you the idea that every person in here that you see every day is having an experience that you may know nothing about.

Over the last 4 years I have...

... experienced the joy of starting a new business from nothing, with a new team ...

... experienced the stress of starting a new business from nothing, with borrowed money, risking all I had and more ...

... made progress as an athlete in ways I never thought possible...

... had injuries that have stopped me from training, sometimes briefly, sometimes for what seemed like forever...

... had health concerns that have threatened my very way of life, and my ability to ever do "CrossFit" again...

... bought, built, and sold other businesses ...

... risked everything I had built to restructure a partnership ...

... experienced the trust, faith, and generosity of others on a level I could never have imagined ...

... seen my commitment to the success of my businesses help create opportunity for others in a way I'd always hoped I could...

... seen my commitment to the success of my businesses challenge my health (physical and mental) and probably cost me relationships...

... had days of financial stress on a level that I would describe as "crippling"...

... experienced days of financial success that I once only dreamed of...

... had both of my parents go through battling cancer ...

... had both of my brothers get married to the loves of their lives ...

... lost family members ...

... lost childhood friends ...

... seen my brother and his wife (one of our first members) have their first child... (CONGRATS GUYS - Love you, Hannah!)

... seen Justin get married to an incredible woman that he met here... (CONGRATS GUYS!)

... and on and on the story goes...

... and either on that very day, or the day before it, or the day after it, I probably saw you at the gym.

Maybe it was the chance to throw some weights around and say nothing that got me through it.  Maybe it was your smile that helped remind me what was important.  Maybe it was the hug or high 5 when that moment got shared.  Maybe it was seeing YOU battle through a workout and dig deep that reminded me of the power of persistence and the infinite depth of the human spirit, and helped me push on.  Maybe it was seeing you crush a personal goal that reminded me anything is possible.  Maybe it was seeing someone new meet someone who'd been around for a while, and they got to share stories of struggle or success, that reminded me why we do what we do.

... but it has been this place and our people - YOU - that always got me through, kept me going, or helped me celebrate.  Whether you knew it or not.  And whether you know it or not, this is what we do for each other.

I want you to know that no matter what you're going through, you have a place you can go...

... to sweat it out and say nothing...

... to sweat it out and share a few tears...

... to sweat it out and celebrate, flash your smile and get a few high 5's...

... to come and see familiar faces and have a few laughs, and throw some weight around...

... to work towards an ever better version of yourself, physically, mentally, emotionally...

... to build relationships that we hope will last a lifetime...

This is why we opened these doors.  This is a big reason why I'm passionate about what we do.  This is what our team is committed to creating on a daily basis.  We want to help provide this outlet for people, physically and otherwise.  We want to create a space where you can foster relationships, where you can connect and support each other through whatever you're going through on your journey.

Thank you for being a part of this family.  Come in and workout.  Let us be your happy place.

Ready to take your health and fitness to the next level?  Your best life is waiting...
